The Cockroach Janata Party publishes news, analysis, and explainers across cockroachjanataparty.io. Because we cover politically sensitive material — Supreme Court remarks, employment statistics, party-to-party comparisons — we hold ourselves to a clear editorial standard. This page explains exactly how we work, what we promise our readers, and what we do when we get something wrong.
Our Editorial Mission
We publish to inform India’s young readers about the political movement they have helped create, and about the deeper structural issues — unemployment, exam fraud, judicial language, and political representation — that gave rise to it. Our work is satirical in framing but substantive in content. We do not publish parody as fact; we mark commentary clearly; and we treat numbers, dates, and direct quotations as inviolable.
Sourcing Standards
- Primary sources first: We rely on Supreme Court transcripts (LiveLaw, Bar & Bench), parliamentary records, ECI filings, CMIE data, NSS-O reports, and direct statements from CJP leadership wherever available.
- Verified secondary sources: When citing reporting, we cite outlets with editorial accountability — The Hindu, Indian Express, BBC, Reuters, AP, AFP, The Wire, Scroll, Newslaundry.
- Direct quotes: All direct quotations are verbatim from the cited source. We do not paraphrase inside quotation marks.
- Data freshness: Employment, unemployment, and population data is sourced from the most recent CMIE/PLFS release available at the time of publication, with the date of the data clearly indicated.
What We Mark Clearly
- Opinion vs. reporting: Articles in our “Analysis” or “Comment” category are clearly opinion; news articles are clearly news.
- Satirical framing: Where our writing uses satirical or rhetorical framing, the context is unambiguous from the surrounding text.
- Internal links to party material: When we link to our own manifesto, leadership statements, or membership materials, that affiliation is obvious from the link target and context.
- Sponsored content: The CJP does not currently publish sponsored content. If that changes, sponsored material will be tagged “SPONSORED” at the top.
Corrections Policy
We make mistakes. When we do, we fix them transparently:
- Factual error in body: the article is corrected, with the correction noted at the bottom of the page in an “Editor’s Note” block dated the day of the correction.
- Factual error in headline: the headline is changed, the original headline is preserved at the bottom of the article, and the URL is preserved (no slug change) to maintain referrer integrity.
- Misattribution of a quote: immediate correction within 24 hours of notification, with both the original (struck-through) and corrected text shown.
- Significant inaccuracy: a full retraction notice is posted, the original article is taken down, and the retraction URL replaces it.
How to Report an Error
If you spot a factual error in any CJP article, please email corrections@cockroachjanataparty.io with:
- The article URL
- The exact text that you believe is incorrect
- The corrected version (with source where applicable)
We review every correction request within 48 hours and respond directly to you with our finding, whether or not we act on the request.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
This website is operated by the Cockroach Janata Party. We are not an independent news outlet. When we write about the CJP, that affiliation is obvious from the domain. When we write about other parties, our editorial slant — broadly sympathetic to youth concerns and structurally critical of India’s political establishment — should be assumed.
That said, our standard for factual accuracy applies regardless of political subject. If we make a statement about the BJP, Congress, AAP, or any individual leader, that statement is sourced to the same evidentiary standard we apply to our own party.
Comments & Community Standards
Comments on this site are moderated. We welcome disagreement, criticism, and pointed argument. We do not allow:
- Personal attacks against any individual (including political opponents)
- Casteist, communal, sexist, or hateful language
- Threats of violence or harassment
- Spam, off-topic posts, or commercial advertising
- Coordinated brigading or bot-driven comment campaigns
Our Telegram and WhatsApp communities follow the same standards. Moderators are CJP volunteer members trained on these guidelines.
About Our Editorial Team
Articles are published by the CJP Editorial Desk — a small team of volunteer writers and editors with backgrounds in journalism, political science, economics, and law. Our editor-in-chief is responsible for final sign-off on every article. Abhijeet Dipke does not personally write articles for this site; his contributions are limited to direct quotes and official party statements.
If you would like to contribute as a guest writer or volunteer editor, please write to editorial@cockroachjanataparty.io with samples of your work.
